Ghent Dog Park - Renovation Project

Dog Park Renovation Project:

MISSION: To improve the existing, city-sanctioned dog park along the 1300 block of Stockley Gardens, north of Princess Anne Rd. For the safety and enjoyment of both humans and dogs, this project includes installing an attractive fence, in a style that is reflective of our historical neighborhood architecture, and beautifying the landscape through the addition of trees and other plantings, as well as improving the sidewalk and enhancing the nighttime lighting situation.

HISTORY: A group of concerned neighbors and dog-lovers, who enjoyed the park but saw opportunities to address safety issues and enhance the beauty of this green space, formed a grassroots committee in April 2004 to develop the project and work through the appropriate channels, including the neighborhood, the Ghent Neighborhood League and the City of Norfolk.
